Surgical masterclass course

In 2018 I travelled to Khartoum in Sudan to film and photograph this charitable surgical education course, where local patients were treated for vaginal fistula.

Vaginal fistula is a result of prolonged labour caused by these women being subject to female genital mutilation, a tradition in this part of the world, and living far from hospital care during labour. The treatment these patients received will cure their urinary incontinence thus transforming their lives and allowing them to be accepted back in to their communities.

It was a rewarding experience to have the opportunity to tell the story of this fantastic work and to see hospital staff and culture in another continent.

Surgical training course

I photographed international delegates and faculty members at this cadaveric training course in Bristol in 2018.

A big challenge here was to avoid any of the cadavers appearing in the shot while still capturing the learning taking place in the lab.

Medical conference

I filmed photographed the speakers and atmosphere of the ELUTS meeting in Prague in 2019; a European gathering of urologists offering training and presenting their latest research.

Capturing a great photo of a speaker requires patience and good timing. I compose the shots to make the room feel as busy as possible despite the lower than expected turn out of delegates.

ICS Scientific Committee meeting

I have captured this committee's meetings in 2019 on the 28th floor of Gothia Towers in Gothenburg, Sweden and in 2018 in a library of the Univeristy of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

I love to create variety in a photo album by moving around the room and capturing as many interesting angles as I can find.

Gathering the committee together for a formal group photo makes a great record of the members of the committee for that year.

ICS annual meetings

I've photographed many International Continence Society annual meetings.

There's always so many enthusiastic speakers and exciting colaboration to capture. Light levels can be low in conference centres which adds to the challenge of getting clear exposures of all the activity.

Weddings

Capturing such an important day is always an honour!

I love the variety of scenes and moments that can be photographed, from the excitement of preparations to the partying of the reception, there's always plenty of emotion and fun going on.

When so much planning has gone into every detail of a wedding day I make it my duty to record as much of it as possible.

After spending such an intimate time with my clients I always feel that the wedding photo album is like a gift I can give for them to treasure!

Products

Taking the time to photograph a product so that it's size, colour and purpose are clear, fine tuning the lighting and angles to get the best results is a very satisifying task.

The style of photography is an essential part of a brand's visual identity.
